Widespread Voter Fraud Suspected in Papal Election

ROME- Today's election of Cardinal John Ratzinger to the papacy, has raised allegations of voter fraud. "For one thing all of the ballots were burned making it impossible for a fair recount," noted former president and election observer Jimmy Carter. President Carter is not the only one voicing concerns about possible irregularities in the election process. Rev. Jesse Jackson is also vocal in his concerns that African cardinals were underrepresented in the vote. "Seventeen percent of the church is in Africa, yet only nine percent of the cardinals voting were from Africa. Italy has six percent of the world's Catholics and seventeen percent of the cardinals. This is outrageous."
